WSJ: “How to Speak the GOP’s Language”

Q: What educational policy has the support of 85% of Republicans, 70% of Democrats, and landslide majorities across all ethnic, ideological, and geographical lines?

A: Requiring our public schools to teach English to all schoolchildren.

As I argue in the WSJ op-ed below, if McCain (whom I have endorsed) were to put his political weight behind this proposal, which has a realistic prospect of DOUBLING the test scores of immigrant students in just a few years, he will gain the ever-lasting gratitude of a generation of immigrants and probably win the presidential primary and general election.

All that is requiring is a huge dose of the fabled John McCain political courage…
