I’m sending along a few recent articles detailing the disastrous state of bilingual education programs in Arizona, whose record is arguably even more unsuccessful than those of California.
As most of you are already aware, the manifest failure of Arizona’s programs has inspired a Prop. 227-like initiative scheduled for the next election ballot. Two Arizona polls show the proposed measure leading by about 50 points, indicating that Arizona will likely follow California’s lead in dismantling bilingual education
Perhaps eventually—once enough individual states have led the way—-America’s timorous politicians will decide to get in front and help “lead” this overwhelmingly popular parade.
